The Bergstrasse Hiking Paths: Castle Trail and Blossom Trail

On the footpaths along the Bergstrasse you will find yourself afar from any hustle and bustle. Here is where, under favour of the mild climate, the almonds and peach trees blossom very early. Picturesque little towns, where medieval half-timbered houses still can be found, enchant their visitors.

The Castle Trail

Visit more than 30 castles, châteaus and ruins by foot.
You are invited to experience the Bergstrasse region, in harmony with nature, by foot on the Bergstrasse Castles Trail (Burgensteig). Hiking through blossoming landscapes, vineyards and woodlands, passing by almost all of the castles and ruins located alongside the Bergstrasse, the Bergstrasse Castles Trail offers many unique nature experiences and impressions. This hiking path is divided into 9 stages.

For more information visit the official homepage from the holiday region Die Bergstrasse. (Sorry, currently only available in German)

The Bergstrasse Blossom Trail (Bluetenweg) runs through woods, meadows and vineyards. It leads past quarries, front gardens and through well-kept parks. This hiking path is divided into 5 stages and focuses on nature reserves, parks and vineyards.

The footpath is accessible from quality hiking trails such as the Alemannenweg, Castle Trail, Nibelungensteig and Neckarsteig. Almost all vineyards and wine trails are along the route. The entry and exit points of the Blossom Trail can be reached by bus or train. You can find the exact route at the official homepage from the holiday region Die Bergstrasse.
